The safety of your money transfer is important to us. To prevent fraud and help keep your money safe, Money Mart and MoneyGram require you to show a valid ID to complete all money transfer transactions. Verifying that people are who they say they are helps reduce the risk of becoming a victim of a scam or fraud.
At Money Mart, we have partnered with MoneyGram to proudly serve a network of more than 200 countries and territories that you can send to. To see which countries are available, simply come into a Money Mart location, start sending money or estimating fees.
We know getting money to your receiver quickly is important. Money is typically ready for cash pickup within minutes after the transfer has been sent successfully. Regardless of the payment method used, timing is subject to operating hours, the destination country, currency availability, local laws and regulations and compliance requirements.
Sending to bank accounts and mobile wallets is fast and convenient. Many transfers to bank accounts and mobile wallets are completed within just a few hours. Timing of funds availability in your receiver's account varies depending on the destination country, payment and receiving methods, and is subject to banking hours and systems availability, good funds availability, approval by MoneyGram’s verification systems and local laws and regulations; banking business hours typically exclude weekends/holidays.
To track the status of your transfer, you will need your reference number, the sender's last name and date of birth, and the receiver's name to complete the search. You can contact MoneyGram to track your transfer or report transaction issues at 800-666-3947.
1) Find a convenient Money Mart location near you.
2) Bring your reference number and valid photo ID with you for pick up.
- Reference Number: Ask your sender for the reference number for the transaction. This number is on the receipt and included in confirmation emails for online transfer.
- ID: You will need to bring a valid photo ID (passport, national ID or residence permit).
3) Complete the transaction. If required, complete a simple Receive Form, entering the reference number given to you by the sender. Hand the receive form and your valid photo ID to the person at the counter to receive your money.
To ensure a smooth experience when picking up money, you will need the transaction reference number (you can get this from the sender) along with a valid photo ID. Some countries also require valid proof of address when an ID does not contain an address.
You may be required to provide identification, typically one or more of the following:
- Passport
- Driver's License
- National Identity Card or
- Government-Issued ID
You may also be required to provide proof of address.
Please note that your name on the transfer record must exactly match your name as it appears on your government-issued ID.
