The Money Mart Mastercard is currently available by invitation only to select Money Mart customers. Stay tuned for updates as we expand eligibility.
Please note: At the moment, the Money Mart Mastercard is not available to residents of Quebec.
General Credit Card Information
A credit card lets you borrow money up to a set limit to pay for things. Each month, you’ll get a statement showing what you spent. If you pay the full balance by the statement due date, you won’t be charged interest. If you don’t pay your full statement balance by the due date, interest will apply.
Your credit limit is the maximum amount you can spend with your card. Your credit limit is based on factors like your income and credit history.
The Money Mart Mastercard is currently available by invitation only to select Money Mart customers. Eligible customers must apply in-branch for their Money Mart Mastercard.
Approval times can vary but the average application is approved within minutes. If additional verification is required, approval times may take longer.
Fees & Charges
The Money Mart Mastercard has a monthly fee of $9.99. For information on all applicable fees, please refer to the Disclosure Statement.
The APR is 29.99%. The card includes an interest-free grace period on purchases. If you pay your full statement balance on or before the statement due date, you will not be charged interest on those purchases. If you do not pay the full statement balance by the due date, interest will apply.

You can view your statements digitally by logging in to the Money Mart App or by logging into Moneymart.ca. You can download the Money Mart App here for IOS or Android
Security & Fraud
Yes. If you believe you’ve been a victim of credit card fraud, please lock your card via the Money Mart App and call us at 1-800-361-1407 right away. We will review the situation and assist you.
If your card is lost or stolen, log in to the Money Mart App immediately to lock your card. Then call us at 1-800-361-1407 to report the issue to request a replacement card.
Using your credit card online or over the phone can be convenient, but it's important to stay cautious. Here are a few tips that may help reduce your risk:
- Only share your credit card number over the phone if you initiated the call and you're confident about who you're speaking with.
- Make online purchases through well-known or trusted retailers, and check that the website shows "https://" to indicate a secure connection.
- Avoid using public or unsecured Wi-Fi networks when entering payment information.
- Monitor your account regularly through the Money Mart App so you can quickly spot anything unusual.

You can earn up to 5% cash back on purchases in the following categories*:

- Transit
- Purchases made in a foreign currency
You can also earn 5% cash back on select Money Mart service fees**:
- MoneyGram money transfer service fee
- Cheque cashing item fee
- Currency exchange transaction fee
Get 1% cash back on Installment Loan payments***:
- On up to 12 monthly payments.

You can redeem the cash back you've earned on purchases in the following categories directly through the Money Mart App:
- Gas
- Groceries
- Transit
This means that when you make a purchase in one of these categories, you can apply your available cash back toward that type of transaction in the app.
Yes, purchases made with the Money Mart Mastercard are covered by Purchase Assurance and Extended Warranty.
- Purchase Assurance provides coverage for eligible items against physical damage or theft for up to 90 days from the date of purchase****
- Extended Warranty extends the manufacturer's warranty on eligible items for up to one additional year, matching the terms of the original warranty*****
International Usage
Yes. You can use your card anywhere Mastercard is accepted, including outside of Canada.
It's recommended that you set up a travel notification in the Money Mart App. This helps reduce the chance that your transactions are flagged as unusual while you're away.

You can lock or unlock your card at any time through the Money Mart App or by calling Customer Service at 1-800-361-1407.
No. At this time, supplementary cards, authorized users, and co-applicants are not available.

Credit Score & Reporting
Paying only the minimum amount will keep your account in good standing, but there are a few things to keep in mind:
- Interest will continue to accrue.
- Your overall balance may increase if you carry it forward from month to month.
- Your credit score can be affected over time, especially if your balance stays high compared to your credit limit or if you continue to carry debt for long periods.
Making more than the minimum payment whenever possible can help you reduce your balance faster and may have a positive impact on your credit health.
